Job Description
A growing engineering and manufacturing company in Hackensack, New Jersey is seeking a hands-on Engineering Technician / Mechanical Engineering Technician to join a small, collaborative team environment. This role is ideal for someone with a strong mechanical and electrical maintenance background who enjoys wearing multiple hats and supporting both engineering and production operations.
Compensation & ScheduleBase salary range: $80,000 - $100,000 depending on experienceFull-time direct hire opportunity4-day work week with every Friday offStable company environment with strong long-term growth potential
This position will focus heavily on editing and improving existing designs, troubleshooting equipment issues, and supporting day-to-day engineering functions within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The company specializes in custom engineered equipment and values individuals who are practical, adaptable, and comfortable working directly with machinery and technical teams.
ResponsibilitiesModify and update existing mechanical designs and technical drawings using 2D and 3D AutoCAD softwareAssist with troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipmentSupport engineering projects from concept revisions through production implementationWork closely with manufacturing, maintenance, and procurement teams to keep projects moving efficientlyPerform basic mechanical engineering calculations and assist with equipment improvementsHelp identify design changes that improve reliability, functionality, and manufacturabilityInterface with vendors and occasionally customers regarding technical questions and project updatesProvide hands-on support on the production floor as needed in a small team environmentAssist with mechanical assemblies, equipment modifications, and system testing when required
Strong hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environmentExperience editing mechanical designs and technical drawings using AutoCAD 2D and 3DAbility to perform basic mechanical engineering functions and support equipment troubleshootingBachelor"s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; Associate"s degree or equivalent technical experience will also be considered
