Engineering Technician

U.S. Facilities, Inc., a consolidated facility management service company, is seeking an Engineering Support Position to work on one of our projects in Southeast Virginia. This is to be accomplished on a routine basis as outlined in the following responsibilities:

Qualifications:Education:

High School diploma or demonstrated equivalent

Experience/Skill Sets:

Knowledge of Operations Maintenance principles such as data collection, pavement markings, markers and messages, traffic signs and guardrail.Ability to enter timely and accurate data into automated systems.Ability to work independently.Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.Skill in the use of computers and software applications.

Work Conditions

90-day probation period.Flexible schedule (relates to a 24/7/365 operating environment).Required VDOT/Industry training.Significant all-season/all-hour operating conditions.May be subject to short or no-notice work assignments.Work may occur outside along interstate highways requiring necessary safety. precautions involved in working with electricity in and alongside traffic.Fast-paced, multi-tasking environment subject to short or no-notice work assignments and exposure to inclement weather.Work environment is informal, both team and autonomy oriented, having routine tasks with variable pace and pressure.Weekend, evening, and overtime work may be required. Standing for prolonged periods of time, walking, lifting, carrying; frequently reaching, kneeling, climbing, bending, twisting, crouching, and balancing can be expected.Monitored performance with routine evaluation.

Compensation:

NOTE: This position is designed as essential and, as such, all duties associated with this job are required during emergency situations which may include but are not limited to inclement weather, disaster response and emergency operations. VDOT/Project Management will determine when essential positions are required.
