Job Description:
Summary
The Engineering Technology Intern will work directly with the organization’s Engineering Technology Division. The intern will receive supervision and guidance from the Research & Development and Reliability Departments to complete their assigned projects. These projects were developed to improve the organization’s digital platform, solve operational difficulties, and cultivate the crucial skills learned in school and past work experiences.
Responsibilities
Design, fabricate, test, and document assigned project
Utilize appropriate measurement instruments to record dimensions of equipment
Work with 3D software (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, etc.) to create accurate visuals of measured equipment
Integrate 3D models into the organization’s digital environment
Assist Research & Development and Reliability in their daily duties
Provide an end-of-program presentation that demonstrates results of assigned project
Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Must be enrolled in a BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or other closely related field
Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer (late May through early August)
Able to physically work onsite in Midland, TX
Able to work 12-hour shifts
Must have experience with 3D modeling software
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Has attention to detail; well organized
Self-motivated, independent, and reliable with a strong work ethic
Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to effectively communicate with personnel at all levels of the organization
