POSITION SUMMARY: The Enrollment Communications & Marketing Strategist owns and manages the communication experience for prospective students and their families across the admissions journey. This includes email, text messaging, portals, AIâsupported communication tools, and key admission events.
Working closely with admission counselors and campus partners, the strategist ensures that enrollment communications are clear, timely, welcoming, and aligned with the university’s mission and values. This role combines handsâon execution with thoughtful refinement of systems and processes so that families feel informed, supported, and confident as they make enrollment decisions.
This position operates with a high degree of professional autonomy, selfâdirection, and creative latitude and is wellâsuited for someone who values steady contribution, craftsmanship, and service.
Bob Jones University seeks a thoughtful, detailâoriented professional to serve as our Enrollment Communications & Marketing Strategist. This role owns and refines how prospective students and their families experience the admissions process—from first inquiry through enrollment—through clear, wellâdesigned, missionâaligned communication.
In this context, marketing refers to communication strategy, experience design, and confidenceâbuilding at key decision points—not advertising or highâvolume lead generation.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own and manage enrollment communications across email, text, portals, and AIâsupported tools.
- Maintain and refine student and parent portals to ensure accuracy, clarity, and ease of use.
- Serve as steward of the enrollment communication journey, identifying friction points and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with admission counselors to align communication with recruitment goals and family needs.
- Monitor engagement and usage data to guide incremental improvements to communication flow and content.
- Support the planning and execution of admission events and campus visits.
- Apply appropriate communication and userâexperience best practices within a higherâeducation context.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Alignment with the mission and values of Bob Jones University.
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, education, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2–5 years of experience in communications, enrollment, marketing, or a related professional role.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing clear, wellâcrafted work.
- Excellent written communication skills with sensitivity to students, parents, and diverse audiences.
- Comfort learning and managing CRM and communication platforms.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and exercise sound judgment.
- A collaborative, serviceâoriented posture and appreciation for steady, behindâtheâscenes impact.
PREFERRED, NOT REQUIRED
- Experience in higher education or studentâfacing services.
- Familiarity with CRM or marketing automation tools (e.g., Slate, HubSpot, Mailchimp).
- Exposure to communication strategy, user experience, or digital content development.
