GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIESEngages directly in firefighting and fire preventive activities to protect and safeguard lives, property, and environment. Firefighters assist in maintenance and repair of fire stations and equipment. A firefighter is responsible for assisting the Engineer in maintaining assigned fire apparatus and assisting in maintaining apparatus readiness by performing daily checks and minor repairs/preventative maintenance on apparatus (e.g., greasing the engine, tightening or replacing screws etc.). A Firefighter conducts activities in emergency and non-emergency situations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS• 1. Graduation from high school or possession of a GED certificate.• 2. Must be 18 years of age• 3. IFSAC Hazardous Material Operations, must obtain within the first year of employment• 4. IFSAC Fire Fighter I, must obtain within the first year of employment• 5. EMT-Basic (State of Idaho or NREMT)• 6. ICS-100/200/700/800, must obtain within the first year of employment

• EMT Certification pay offered at $80 per month.
