Entry Level IT Professional
Location: Detroit, MI (Hybrid / Onsite / Remote) – Local 1st Priority
Duration: 36 Month Contract (Optional-Use / As-Needed)
Estimated Hours: 160 Hours / Month
The Entry Level IT Professional will support Detroit Water & Sewerage Department (DWSD) technology operations by providing technical support, troubleshooting software and application issues, maintaining user accounts, assisting with application testing, and supporting infrastructure-related activities. The resource will work alongside DWSD staff to support internal and external users while gaining hands-on experience in enterprise utility systems and business applications.
Must-Haves
• 3rd Year University Student or Recent Graduate• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related technical field• Basic IT Support knowledge• SQL knowledge• Operating Systems knowledge• Software Troubleshooting skills• Application Support experience (academic, internship, or professional)• User Account Management experience• Strong communication and customer service skills• Ability to learn new technologies quickly

Key Responsibilities
• Provide technical support to internal and external users.• Troubleshoot software and application issues.• Assist with user account creation, configuration, and maintenance.• Support application testing activities.• Assist with infrastructure support tasks.• Resolve application-level issues and software errors.• Escalate complex technical issues to senior team members.• Document support activities and resolutions.• Support enterprise application environments.• Collaborate with DWSD staff on day-to-day IT operations.• Participate in training and knowledge-sharing activities.• Assist with technology improvement initiatives.
