Our Grand Rapids, MN office is seeking an Entry-Level Mechanical or Civil Engineer to join our team. This is a hands-on role with exposure to inspections, testing, equipment installations, and client-facing work. The ideal candidate will be a recent graduate or early-career engineer eager to apply mechanical or civil engineering skills in the field and grow with our company. This position is planned for Grand Rapids, MN. However, we will consider other professionally qualified candidates residing in other locations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, analysis, and testing of mechanical and structural systems and components.
- Perform inspections on suspended access and fall protection equipment in accordance with OSHA, ANSI, IWCA, and ASME standards.
- Collect field data, perform basic troubleshooting, and support senior engineers in report preparation and testimony.
- Manage and support load testing and equipment installation projects from start to finish.
- Perform engineering calculations for equipment and supporting structural elements (e.g., steel beams, concrete slabs, columns).
- Generate design drawings, specifications, and certification reports.
- Meet with clients, support proposal generation, and manage subcontractors during installations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, quality, project management, etc.) to support ongoing projects.
- Follow safety guidelines and engineering best practices in both lab and field environments.
- Work both independently and as part of a small field team to complete jobs on schedule.
- Travel to regional and national inspection assignments. Required frequent and overnight travel.
- Other duties as assigned.
