RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, implement, and enforce EHS policies and procedures aligned with manufacturing operations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ANSI, NFPA) and company standards.
- Conduct routine safety audits, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and risk assessments on production lines, equipment, and processes.
- Lead incident investigations (injuries, near-misses, equipment damage), identify root causes, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Partner with production and maintenance teams to ensure safe equipment operation, machine guarding, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) compliance.
- Oversee hazardous materials handling, storage, and disposal in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Develop and facilitate safety training programs (e.g., PPE, forklift safety, confined space, emergency response).
- Track, analyze, and report safety metrics (TRIR, DART rate, near-miss reporting, etc.) across the organization.
- Support ergonomics initiatives to reduce repetitive strain and musculoskeletal injuries.
- Lead emergency preparedness efforts, including drills, evacuation plans, and incident response coordination.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to integrate safety into operational excellence (Lean/Kaizen).
- Develop EHS related communication including safety alerts, and production review meetings
- Provide guidance on EHS processes and ensure strategic alignment with new product launches and facility planning.
- Ability to manage EHS projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, including LOTO, machine guarding, hazard communication, and confined space.
- Experience with safety management systems and compliance audits.
- Professiodnal certification (e.g., CSP, ASP, or CHST) preferred.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for training, report writing, and interacting with diverse populations
- Experience with ISO 45001 or ISO 14001 systems preferred
- Knowledge of industrial hygiene monitoring (noise, air quality, chemical exposure)
Work Environment
- Primarily based in a manufacturing facility with exposure to machinery, noise, temperature variations, and industrial hazards.
- Frequent floor presence ("boots on the ground") required to support production teams.
