Description:

You will be the Environmental, Health & Safety Engineer for the Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) Ocala Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) department. Our team is responsible for program development, oversight, and compliance management.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Environmental, Health & Safety Engineer you will be responsible for driving safety and environmental excellence across MFC Ocala operations.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement environmental and safety programs aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to mitigate operational risks.
  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and company standards.
  • Provide training and guidance to personnel on ESH best practices.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for audits and continuous improvement.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be able to interpret federal regulations, standards and other associated compliance driven programs.
  • Ability to evaluate, apply, audit, and communicate regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, across levels of the organization.
  • Proficient with computer-based tools and applications (Microsoft Office business programs).
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM field (Science Major preferred) with at least 2-year professional expertise in a manufacturing/industrial environment.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience reviewing and completing tasks for Hazard Analysis, Hazard Communication and Ergonomic programs in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience working with safety & environmental regulators at the Federal (OSHA), State (FDEP) and County level to resolve compliance issues is a plus.
  • Fundamental understanding of occupational safety and health requirements in manufacturing and construction operations.
  • Knowledge of and experience with ESH management system elements, such as ISO 14001
  • Understanding of union environments and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Ability to make difficult decisions, solve complex issues and influence ESH cultural improvement.
  • Ability to respond to internal and external issues to maintain regulatory compliance and enhance the employee experience.
  • Experience authoring policies and program documentation.
  • Proficient in reporting and accounting tools used at the site, such as Microsoft Office e.g., Excel, Teams, and SharePoint is a plus.
  • Pursuit of industry recognized certifications in the Safety, Health, or Environmental disciplines.
  • Demonstrate initiative to work independently with a proactive attitude.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
