Job Summary

Nortek Data Center Cooling is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and strengthen EHS programs at a large and rapidly growing manufacturing facility. The EHS Manager will play a critical leadership role in ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing risk, and developing a proactive, employee‑driven safety culture. Success in this role requires the ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced environment, prioritize impact using 80/20 principles, and scale EHS programs alongside business growth.

Key Responsibilities

EHS Leadership & Strategy

Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS programs aligned with Nortek DCC standards, regulatory requirements, and operational priorities.

Serve as the primary EHS leader for the campus, providing visible leadership and coaching across all four buildings.

Apply 80/20 (Pareto) principles to focus resources and actions on the highest‑risk, highest‑impact hazards and opportunities.

Partner with site leadership to support safe growth, new equipment installs, facility expansions, and process changes.

Safety Culture & Engagement

Build and sustain a strong safety culture emphasizing prevention, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Engage employees and leaders at all levels through behavior‑based safety, near‑miss reporting, and frontline participation.

Embed safety expectations into daily operations rather than relying solely on policy or oversight.

Industrial Safety Management

Lead programs covering machine guarding, lockout/tagout, ergonomics, powered industrial trucks, fall protection, confined space, and contractor safety.

Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and safe‑design reviews for new and modified processes.

Lead incident investigations and root‑cause analysis, ensuring corrective actions address systemic risk drivers.

Environmental Compliance

Ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations covering air, water, waste, and hazardous materials.

Manage permitting, reporting, inspections, and waste management activities.

Identify pragmatic environmental improvements that align compliance, sustainability, and operational efficiency.

Training, Metrics & Continuous Improvement

Develop and deliver effective EHS training for employees, supervisors, and leaders.

Use data and trends to drive prioritization, improvement actions, and leadership reporting.

Prepare for and support regulatory, internal, and customer audits.

Standardize scalable EHS processes suitable for a rapidly growing manufacturing campus.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

7-10+ years of EHS experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements.

Demonstrated success building EHS programs and safety culture in fast‑paced or growth‑oriented environments.

Proven ability to prioritize effectively, applying risk‑based and 80/20 thinking to drive meaningful results.
