Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator

Overview

US Conec is seeking a detail-oriented Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator to join our team in Fort Worth, TX. In this role, you’ll develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs within a manufacturing facility. This role ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable state and local regulations while fostering a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. The EHS Coordinator works closely with production, maintenance, quality, and management teams to reduce workplace risks, prevent injuries, ensure regulatory compliance, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Safety & Regulatory Compliance
  •    Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and safe work practices. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, environmental permits, hazardous waste, stormwater, and other applicable regulations. 
  •    Participate in internal and external EHS audits and implement corrective actions. Track EHS metrics, regulatory activities, and corrective actions. Risk Assessment, Inspections & Incident Management
  •    Conduct routine safety inspections of manufacturing equipment, automation systems, warehouses, and support utilities. Perform job hazard and risk assessments for production processes and equipment. 
  •    Investigate injuries, near misses, property damage, and environmental incidents; identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Monitor contractor safety and ensure compliance with facility safety requirements. Training, Emergency Preparedness & Employee Engagement
  •    Coordinate new hire safety orientation and ongoing EHS training, including LOTO, machine guarding, PPE, forklift safety, hazard communication, ergonomics, and emergency response. Maintain emergency action plans and conduct emergency evacuation drills. 
  •    Inspect and maintain emergency response equipment. Promote employee engagement and continuous improvement through safety initiatives and collaboration with supervisors. Environmental, Chemical & Occupational Health Programs
  •    Manage the Hazard Communication Program and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Coordinate industrial hygiene monitoring, including noise, heat stress, air quality, and chemical exposure assessments. 
  •    Support ergonomic improvement initiatives. Administer environmental programs including hazardous waste, recycling, spill prevention, universal waste, and sustainability initiatives. Continuous Improvement    Partner with operations, engineering, and leadership to identify opportunities to improve safety performance, reduce risk, and strengthen environmental compliance. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that support operational excellence and a strong safety culture.

    Must Haves

    • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
    • Minimum of 2 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment; plastic injection molding experience is strongly preferred.
    • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA requirements, and manufacturing safety standards.
    • Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analyses.
    • Strong understanding of machine guarding, lockout/tagout, confined space awareness, ergonomics, and industrial safety.
    • Experience maintaining regulatory records and preparing compliance reports.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and EHS management software is preferred.

    • Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels
    • Demonstrated decision making and organizational skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, presentation skills, along with verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must have the ability to develop working relationships with all functional areas of the company.
    • Ability to support multiple shifts as needed based on business needs.
