About the Role
Our client Dominion Energy’s Generation business is seeking an Environmental Compliance Coordinator to support environmental compliance activities across the Eastern Region, including eastern North Carolina and the Outer Banks. This is a fully onsite, field‑focused role requiring local candidates based in the Virginia Beach area. Remote or hybrid work is not available.
This position is ideal for early‑career environmental professionals with less than 10 years of total experience who hold current Virginia DEQ Erosion & Sediment Control Inspector and Stormwater Inspector certifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections to ensure compliance with erosion and sediment control requirements, stormwater regulations, and environmental permits.
- Support environmental compliance activities across multiple sites within the Eastern Region.
- Document findings, prepare reports, and communicate compliance status to internal stakeholders.
- Assist with implementation of corrective actions and best management practices.
- Travel regularly within eastern North Carolina and the Outer Banks (mileage reimbursement provided).
- Operate a company vehicle or personal vehicle for company business (mileage eligible).
Required Qualifications
- Current Virginia DEQ Erosion & Sediment Control Inspector Certification
- Current Virginia DEQ Stormwater Inspector Certification
- Hands‑on environmental field experience.
- Working knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and compliance practices.
- Less than 10 years of total professional experience.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel daily within the region.

- No handling of PPI, Company Sensitive Information, or Credit Sensitive Information.
- Local candidates only; relocation or remote work is not available.
- Must be comfortable with daily fieldwork and regional travel.
