Job Summary:

Elevation Labs is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Intern to support site-level safety, environmental compliance, and regulatory initiatives. This internship provides hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while partnering with experienced EHS professionals.

The EHS Intern will assist in identifying improvement opportunities, supporting regulatory compliance efforts, and contributing to safety culture initiatives across the site. This role is designed to provide practical exposure to real-world EHS program management while building foundational knowledge in regulatory compliance and manufacturing safety systems.

Essential Functions, Key objectives, and Responsibilities:

• Perform waste stream analysis and recommend actions to reduce waste, streamline vendors, and implement more sustainable practices
• Assist with chemical inventory improvement and consolidation in alignment with EHS, FDA, and organic certification requirements
• Assist with auditing and revising lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures
• Support hazard identification efforts, unsafe condition reviews, and corrective action tracking to ensure compliance.
• Assist in the development of safety communications to increase awareness and employee engagement
• Support data collection and analysis related to safety metrics and maintain safety documentation
• Participate in incident and near-miss investigations, including root cause discussions and corrective action planning
• Contributes to updates of written policies, standard operating procedures, and compliance guidelines.
• Support day-to-day EH&S activities as assigned

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

• Effective written and verbal communication skills appropriate for a professional environment
• Textbook knowledge or general familiarity with (OSHA, EPA, and FDA regulations preferred)
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand, operate, interpret and troubleshoot equipment and safety systems
• Applies effective time management skills to meet deadlines in a structured environment
• Willingness to learn analytical and problem-solving abilities and take direction in a team-based environment

Education/Experience:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree (Junior or Senior preferred) in, Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene Or related discipline
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
