The EHS Divisional Manager provides strategic leadership, oversight, and direction for Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs across multiple project sites and regions within the MEP and industrial sectors. This role ensures regulatory compliance, drives safety performance, and fosters a strong safety culture across all operations. The Regional Manager oversees field EHS teams, develops and implements safety policies, monitors compliance with OSHA, NFPA, EPA, DOT and client standards, and collaborates with senior leadership to align safety initiatives with corporate objectives. This position requires both strategic vision and hands-on engagement to reduce risk, prevent incidents, and ensure regulatory and client compliance. 

This position will require up to 60% travel, nationwide.

Minimum Qualifications-

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive EHS experience in construction, industrial, or MEP environments.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing EHS teams across multiple projects or regions.
  • Ability to travel regionally and work in field environments across multiple sites.
  • OSHA 510 (Occupational Safety and Health for Construction) and OSHA 501 (Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health) certifications.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification (required).
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification (required or ability to obtain).
  • Professional safety certifications preferred: CSP, CHST, ASP, CSHO, OHST, STS.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) standards.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA standards, EPA regulations, and DOT requirements.
  • Proven experience in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action management.
  • Expertise in contractor management, prequalification, and oversight of multiemployer sites.
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance requirements and sustainability initiatives.
  • Experience with safety management systems (SMS), KPI dashboards, and corporate-level reporting.
  • Proven ability to implement culture-change initiatives across large, distributed teams.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills for field and o ice-based EHS sta .
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

Key Responsibilities 

Regional Safety Leadership 

  • Provide leadership and guidance to EHS Managers, Coordinators, and field sta across multiple projects or geographic regions. 
  • Develop and implement regional safety strategies, goals, and performance metrics.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture, emphasizing accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as the senior EHS authority for the region, providing expertise to project teams and leadership.

Program Development & Oversight 

  • Establish, monitor, and enhance EHS policies, programs, and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Oversee the execution of project-specific safety plans for MEP and industrial operations, including electrical, mechanical, and industrial tasks.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of safety programs, hazard assessments, and risk mitigation strategies across all sites.  Compliance & Regulatory Management 
  • Monitor OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, and client-specific requirements across all projects.
  • Conduct regional audits, inspections, and compliance reviews; ensure corrective actions are completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain regulatory reporting compliance, including OSHA 300 logs, environmental reports, and incident investigations. Incident Management & Investigation 
  • Oversee incident reporting, investigation, and root cause analysis across all regional projects.
  • Ensure lessons learned are communicated and preventive measures are implemented.
  • Track trends, KPIs, and corrective actions to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.

Training & Workforce Development 

  • Develop and oversee regional safety training programs, ensuring all personnel are trained and competent for their roles.
  • Mentor and support field EHS staff, including EHS Managers and Coordinators, to strengthen their skills and e

Contractor & Subcontractor Management 

  • Ensure subcontractors comply with company and regulatory safety requirements.
  • Review subcontractor safety plans, prequalification, and training documentation.
  • Conduct safety performance assessments of subcontractors and enforce accountability.

Strategic & Executive Reporting 

  • Prepare regional safety performance reports, dashboards, and metrics for executive leadership.
  • Participate in strategic planning and budget discussions to align EHS programs with corporate objectives.
  • Serve as the regional EHS liaison with clients, regulators, and third-party auditors.

 Risk Management & Pre-Planning 

  • Provide oversight and guidance for risk assessments, hazard analyses, and high-risk work planning.
  • Ensure proper safety and environmental considerations are included in project planning, design reviews, and startup/commissioning activities.
