Job Description
What We're Looking For:
The Environmental Health & Safety Engineer coordinates environmental health and safety policies, completes workplace and equipment inspections and implements and manage workplace safety programs.
What You Will Do:
- Ensuring compliance: Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations
- Managing programs: Managing EHS programs, policies, and procedures
- Training employees: Coordinating occupational safety training for employees
- Responding to emergencies: Responding to EHS emergencies
- Conducting inspections: Completing workplace and equipment inspections
- Investigating incidents: Conducting employee incident investigations
- Monitoring exposure: Monitoring exposure to hazardous chemicals
- Tracking incidents: Tracking the number of incidents and producing reports
- Collaborating with departments: Working collaboratively with different departments to ensure workplace safety
- Oversees all Hazardous Chemical processing of waste in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Assisting with government inspections: Assisting with any government inspections
- Manage and complete all waste streams based on all EPA regulations
- Lead internal Safety Committee
- Work Cross functional with department heads to ensure compliance
Who You Are:
- A Bachelor of Science degree
- Specialization in Occupational Safety and Health, or Environmental Health, Environmental Sciences
- RCRA Certification
- DOT Hazmat Certification
- OSHA Certification
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
