At Serve Robotics, we’re reimagining how things move in cities. Our personable sidewalk robot is our vision for the future. It’s designed to take deliveries away from congested streets, make deliveries available to more people, and benefit local businesses.

The Serve fleet has been delighting merchants, customers, and pedestrians along the way in Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas, Atlanta and Chicago while doing commercial deliveries. We’re looking for talented individuals who will grow robotic deliveries from surprising novelty to efficient ubiquity.

JOB OVERVIEW

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for supporting and implementing workplace health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role partners with site leadership and employees to promote a safe work environment, reduce risk, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Program Management

  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of EHS policies, procedures, and programs.

  • Conduct routine facility inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance.

  • Monitor corrective actions and verify timely completion.

  • Assist in developing site-specific safety initiatives and continuous improvement projects.

Compliance & Regulatory Requirements

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, local fire code, and other applicable regulations.

  • Maintain required EHS documentation, records, permits, and reports.

  • Support regulatory inspections and respond to findings as necessary.

  • Stay informed on changes to EHS regulations and industry best practices.

Incident Management

  • Lead or support investigations of workplace injuries, near misses, and environmental incidents.

  • Identify root causes and develop corrective and preventive actions.

  • Track incident trends and recommend improvements to reduce risk.

Training & Employee Engagement

  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.

  • Promote a positive safety culture through employee engagement and awareness initiatives.

  • Support safety committee activities and site-wide safety campaigns.

Emergency Preparedness

  • Assist with emergency response planning and business continuity efforts.

  • Coordinate drills for fire, evacuation, severe weather, and other emergency scenarios.

  • Ensure emergency equipment and supplies are properly maintained and inspected.

Environmental Programs

  • Support waste management, recycling, hazardous material handling, and sustainability initiatives.

  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and disposal of regulated materials.

  • Monitor environmental compliance requirements and reporting obligations.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field; or equivalent experience.

  • 3–5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, robotics, technology operations, or similar environments.

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and EHS management systems.

  • Experience conducting incident investigations and risk assessments.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and EHS reporting tools.

Preferred

  • Professional certifications such as:

    • OSHA 30-Hour

    • ASP (Associate Safety Professional)

    • CSP (Certified Safety Professional)

    • CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager)

  • Experience with contractor safety management.

  • Experience supporting multi-site operations.
