HDR is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Planner 2 to work in our Transportation Business Group as a member of our Environmental Sciences and Planning Section, based out of either our Nashville or Brentwood, Tennessee offices.

In the role of Environmental Planner 2, we'll count on you to:

  • Collect and report project-related environmental data, including research, interviews with government agencies and clients, map reviews, and field investigations of environmental features.

  • Prepare NEPA documents, including associated technical memoranda.

  • Prepare for and participate in public and client information meetings and hearings.

  • Prepare, plan, and analyze/review technical studies, permit applications, NEPA documents, and similar reports/documents.

  • Assist public and private clients with permit coordination, acquisition, and compliance for wetland impacts, bridge construction, and threatened/endangered species.

  • Manage and report on all aspects of environmental projects, including scope, schedule, and budget.

  • Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years of environmental experience
  • Experience delivering a variety of complex environmental projects and programs
  • Strong project management Skills
  • AICP certification
  • Local candidates preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or closely related field
  • A minimum of 5 years environmental experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilities
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
