Job Description
Environmental Professional
Serves as a key contributor to deliverables under environmental programs, ensuring technical defensibility and regulatory compliance across all project phases.
What you will do:
- Preparation of technical documents including but not limited to Preliminary Assessments (PAs), Remedial Investigation (RI) Reports, Feasibility Studies (FS), Proposed Plans (PP), Decision Documents (DDs).
- Develop documents that comply with CERCLA/Superfund guidance, RCRA, National Contingency Plan (NCP), USACE / EPA document expectations.
- Develop Conceptual Site Models (CSMs) integrating geology, hydrogeology, contaminant fate and transport, and exposure pathways.
- Synthesize field data (soil, groundwater, sediment, vapor) into clear, defensible technical narratives.
- Perform data evaluation and statistical analysis to support nature and extent determinations.
- Apply risk-based frameworks to interpret human health and ecological risk assessment results.
- Develop and screen remedial alternatives in accordance with CERCLA criteria.
- Conduct technology evaluations, including treatment, containment, and disposal options (e.g., PFAS media management.
- Prepare detailed alternatives analyses,
- Support development of cost estimates consistent with USACE/EPA guidance.
- Contribute to technical proposals, including methodology and approach.
Position Requirements and Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Bachelor's degree in a related program (i.e. environmental engineering, civil engineering, environmental science, geology) or related discipline from an accredited program.
- Direct experience developing USACE, EPA, and FUDS programs and guidance documents.
- Advanced technical writing and document organization.
- Ability to synthesize large datasets into clear conclusions.
- Strong attention to detail and cross-document consistency.
- Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, should be willing to perform technical lead roles.
- Must be proactive with strong initiative and follow through, detail oriented, and capable of working both independently and in a team environment.
- Travel related to meetings with clients, stakeholders, and research will be required.
- Experience with several of the following computer programs (Including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, ArcGIS, geologic modeling software).
- Must have ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance and pass a preemployment and annual background check and drug screen.
Supervisor Responsibilities:
This position does not have any direct reports but will serve as a technical mentor for junior staff.
Position Type/Excepted Hours of Work/Travel Requirements:
- This position is a full-time, exempt role.
- Travel related to meetings, with clients, stakeholders, and research may be required.
