Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations for environmental remediation, soil remediation, demolition/decontamination, and habitat restoration projects. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day construction activities, coordinating field crews and subcontractors, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on field leader with strong experience managing complex environmental or heavy civil construction projects and leading multidisciplinary teams in challenging field environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily field operations on environmental remediation and construction projects.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company, client, and regulatory health and safety requirements.
- Supervise field personnel, equipment operators, laborers, and subcontractors to maintain productivity and project quality.
- Coordinate project sequencing, logistics, and schedules to ensure timely completion of work.
- Interpret project plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Identify potential change orders, differing site conditions, and out-of-scope work.
- Complete and maintain accurate daily reports, safety documentation, and project records.
- Monitor labor, equipment, and material usage to maintain project budgets and productivity goals.
- Procure materials and coordinate with vendors and subcontractors as needed.
- Conduct site walks and assist with project planning and estimating activities.
- Investigate incidents, complete required documentation, and implement corrective actions.
- Anticipate and resolve field challenges before they impact project schedules.
- Work closely with project managers and senior leadership to ensure successful project execution.
- Mentor and develop field personnel while maintaining accountability for crew performance.
- Supervise and support up to 10 direct craft personnel.
