Job Summary
As an Interventional Cardiovascular Technologist I, you will assist with diagnostic and interventional procedures in the catheterization/electrophysiology laboratory. You will work closely with physicians and nursing staff to provide high-quality care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and other related procedures by overseeing a variety of cardiac imaging procedures utilizing specialized equipment and techniques to capture high-quality images of the heart during invasive cardiac interventions, along with other direct patient care activities. You will also be responsible for preparing and stocking the lab before and after procedures, setting sterile instrument fields, and maintaining and monitoring aseptic techniques.Does this position require Patient Care? YesEssential Functions-Ensures the safe, accurate, and effective operation of complex diagnostic and interventional equipment in accordance with established guidelines.-Demonstrates competency in Cath Lab and/or EP Lab technologies, procedures, and devices across services, including but not limited to cardiac, vascular, structural, and/or electrophysiology services.-Applies advanced knowledge of cardiac and vascular anatomy, physiology, and disease states to perform hemodynamic measurements and calculations, interpret EKGs, and apply clinical judgment in support of diagnostic and interventional procedures.-Maintains ethical standards, patient confidentiality, and professional conduct. Follows the Universal Protocol to confirm patient identity and verify the correct procedure. Educates and orients patients, addressing both physical and emotional needs.-Monitors, records, and analyzes ECG and hemodynamic data; performs calculations; assesses patients pre-, intra-, and post-procedure, including high-acuity care and ACLS response.-Performs baseline, intra-procedure, and post-procedure patient assessments. Maintains sterile technique, infection control, radiation safety, and patient positioning. For appropriately licensed individuals, assists with fluoroscopy, image acquisition, and post-processing analysis.-Manages post-procedure care, including access site management and hemostasis; monitors recovery, provides discharge education, documents care, and independently escalates clinical concerns to the provider team.-Completes accurate and timely procedural, equipment, and inventory documentation. Assists with room turnover, restocking, quality improvement, and research initiatives. Supports staff and student education through preceptorship and participates in staff training activities.-Maintains schedule awareness, meets productivity expectations, provides flexible shift/on-call coverage, and performs other assigned duties.Qualifications

Maintains effective working relations and communication with the department and other hospital personnel.- Must possess strong analytical and organizational abilities necessary to perform multiple diagnostic tasks.- Must demonstrate proficiency in the electronic medical record system and the hemodynamic system within 3 months.- Ability to identify and diagnose potential problems with patients or equipment, adapts priorities and plans independently with minimal direction. Escalate appropriately to leadership or the vendor as required.- Must be able to promote a customer/patient-oriented philosophy among all staff within the area.- Must use independent judgment, creativity, and initiative in a variety of situations when assisting with patient procedures.- Must be able to work under extremely stressful conditions.- Must be able to understand and operate required equipment and information systems, including, but not limited to, Mobile Aspects, Syngo dynamics, x-ray, biomedical hemodynamic system, catheter-based ultrasound, and additional modalities.- Must be physically capable of lifting (linen, supplies, patients, etc.).- Must have the ability to work with adult, elderly patients, and critically ill patients. Must have the ability to work productively in emergency situations, such as cardiac and respiratory codes, and on-call situations.
