Equipment Operator
Job Summary
We are hiring an experienced Equipment Operator to support daily production and material-handling operations at a busy manufacturing facility in Columbus. This is a hands-on role for someone with forklift, Bobcat/skid steer, and baler operation experience who is mechanically inclined and comfortable working around industrial equipment.
The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, able to follow detailed instructions, and comfortable operating multiple types of heavy equipment.
Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of industrial and material-handling equipment
- Operate forklifts, Bobcats/skid steers, grapple buckets, and mini excavators
- Operate and monitor baling equipment
- Perform various production and material-handling duties as assigned
- Assist with basic equipment maintenance and upkeep
- Inspect equipment and report mechanical or operational issues
- Follow specific work instructions and production procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all company safety policies and applicable safety regulations
- Work effectively as part of a team while also completing tasks independently
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous forklift operation experience required
- Previous Bobcat or skid steer experience required
- Baler operation experience required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to identify basic equipment issues
- Experience operating heavy or industrial equipment preferred
- Ability to follow detailed directions and established procedures
- Strong attention to safety and reliable work habits
- Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment
- Willingness and ability to rotate shifts as required
