Job Description

The minimum starting pay for our Equipment Services Technician in Hilo is $48,000 to $57,100 per year.

HPM Building Supply in Hilo, Hawaii is seeking to hire a full-time Equipment Services Technician to be responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining a variety of gas-powered, electric and battery-powered equipment including chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, mowers, generators, pressure washers and other tools. This position requires strong mechanical expertise, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, a commitment to safety and ability to deliver optimal customer service in a fast-paced outdoor setting. The technician will also manage equipment tracking, maintain accurate parts inventory, and ensure required tools are available and in good working condition.

The typical schedule for the Equipment Services Technician is:

  • Monday- Friday 7:00 am- 4:00 pm
  • No weekends!

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Mechanically inclined with troubleshooting skills and will to learn
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Three years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair of small engines and motors
  • Certification in small engine repair or related technical training preferred
  • Apprenticeship in small engine repair preferred
  • Experience in inventory control and parts management a plus
