Job Description
Edge Sports Global LLC is seeking a motivated and reliable Night and Weekend Supervisor to join our rink operations team in Middelton Massachusetts at the Essex Sports Center. This hands-on role includes overseeing facility operations during evening and weekend hours at the Essex Sports Center. This role ensures a safe, clean, and well-managed environment for guests, athletes, and staff. The Supervisor will oversee staff, operate ice resurfacing equipment (Zamboni), perform ice maintenance (including edging), maintain facility cleanliness, and act as the primary key holder during assigned shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate the ice resurfacing machine (Zamboni) in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform ice maintenance, including edging, shoveling, and other surface repairs as needed.
- Supervise on-shift staff, ensuring tasks are completed to facility standards.
- Oversee nightly cleaning and custodial work, including restrooms, locker rooms, and public areas.
- Secure and lock the building at the end of shifts; maintain key control procedures.
Monitor and maintain the safety, security, and cleanliness of the facility at all times.
- Address guest needs, questions, and concerns in a professional manner.
- Assist with set-up and tear-down for events as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Previous supervisory experience in a recreational, sports, or customer service setting preferred.
- Experience operating a Zamboni or other ice resurfacing equipment (training available).
- Familiarity with ice edging equipment and general rink maintenance preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in cold environments.
