Job Description

Estimator – Commercial Drywall

A well-established commercial construction contractor is seeking an experienced Estimator with a background in commercial drywall, metal framing, and related interior systems.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of developing accurate, competitive estimates for commercial projects.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of estimating experience in commercial drywall, interiors, specialty contracting, or related construction
  • Experience with drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, insulation, or related scopes
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, bid documents, and scopes of work
  • Experience performing quantity takeoffs and developing labor and material pricing
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and bidding processes
  • Strong organization, communication, mathematical, and analytical skills

Preferred

  • 3–5+ years of commercial drywall estimating experience
  • Experience estimating projects valued at $1M+
  • Experience with Bluebeam, OST, Quick Bid, PlanSwift, or similar estimating software
  • Knowledge of RFIs, bid packages, value engineering, and change-order pricing
  • Degree in Construction Management or related field

Responsibilities:

  • Review plans, specifications, and bid documents
  • Perform detailed takeoffs for drywall, framing, ceilings, insulation, and related scopes
  • Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing
  • Prepare proposals, bid packages, exclusions, and clarifications
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
  • Identify scope gaps, project risks, and value-engineering opportunities
  • Assist with change-order pricing and project turnover after award
