Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Bridge / Structural Estimator to support the pursuit and delivery of heavy highway and bridge construction projects in the Kansas City Area. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for complex structural work, collaborating closely with operations, engineering, and leadership teams.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in bridge and structural estimating, understands DOT project requirements, and is comfortable working on large-scale infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for bridge and structural components, including concrete, steel, formwork, and earthwork

  • Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to assess scope, risks, and constructability

  • Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors

  • Coordinate with project management, field operations, and engineering during bid preparation

  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes and assist in bid leveling

  • Participate in bid reviews, value engineering, and cost-risk analysis

  • Support handoff of successful bids to project teams

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience estimating bridge and structural heavy civil projects

  • Strong understanding of DOT standards, specifications, and bid processes

  • Experience with concrete and steel bridge structures preferred

  • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel

  • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
