Job Summary

PEAK Technical is seeking a detail-oriented professional to support our client's manufacturing projects. Our client provides world-class specialty alloy fabrication and custom equipment manufacturing services. Located in Ramsey, MN, this position offers a great opportunity to work in a thriving community known for its high quality of life and vibrant business environment.

Primary Objective of the Position

Prepare accurate estimates for fabricated metal components and assemblies by gathering information, analyzing important metrics, and conducting regular risk assessments. Candidates should be fluent in manufacturing, with in-depth knowledge of bills and routings for metal products and estimating ERP systems. In addition to being excellent communicators, candidates should also be detail-oriented with outstanding organizational skills.

Major Areas of Accountability

• Understand the part/project and its requirements.
• Determine key variables for cost and other estimates.
• Conduct research to obtain data on materials and processes.
• Gather and review offers and quotes from subcontractors.
• Perform risk analysis.
• Create and submit estimate reports or bids to appropriate persons (project managers, clients, sales team, etc.).
• Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, etc.).
• Exhibit excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities.
• Possess basic mathematics skills and knowledge.
• Understand how to read and interpret blueprints and statements of work documents.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications for Entry

• Bachelor's or associate degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering is preferred or a relevant field.
• A minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
• ERP Systems experience.
• Knowledge of and ability to understand Dimensioning and Geometric Tolerancing.
• Knowledge of and ability to understand Welding Symbols.
• Knowledge of and ability to understand AWS and ASME Welding Codes.
• Proficient in estimating sheet metal components and weldments.
• Strong candidates will have estimating skills in machining and machined weldments.
