Estimator (Commercial Construction)

Position Title: Estimator

Reports to: Head of Business Development

This position is located in Ketchum, ID. Qualified candidates must be able to commute to Ketchum, ID.

Position Purpose:

As the Peak Venture Group Estimator you will be the go to point of contact for pre-construction estimating, developing relationships with the trade base and assisting Business Development.

Principle Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:

• Estimate construction projects as assigned, using estimating checklist and software to complete.
• Knowledge of and relationship building with trade base, Architects, Developers and Clients.
• Weekly progress meeting with the Head of Business Development.
• Prepare and deliver project handoff meeting with the Operations Team after project award.
• Analyze project documents, perform accurate quantity take-offs, cost estimation and risk assessment
• Coordinate subcontractors during the pre-construction phase
• Prepare and deliver responses to Requests for Qualifications (RFQ's) and Requests for Pricing (RFP's) as assigned.
• Development and management of the the project bid schedule, securing 100% of the bid deadlines.
• Review bid solicitations and bidding opportunities.
• Prepare Bid Documents, Subcontracts, Prime Contracts, Preliminary Project Schedule.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Comprehensive understanding of commercial construction activities, sequencing and estimating.
• Familiar with CSI Divisions and work breakdown structure.
• Proficient in interpreting commercial design drawings and specifications, including public work projects.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills.

Qualifications:

• Construction Management degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum of two years experience as a commercial construction project estimator.
• Excellent communication skills when interfacing with trades, architects and owners. Capable of negotiating with clients and trades.
• Basic computer skills, and willingness to utilize Microsoft Office Suite, Pro-Core, Microsoft Project and other project related software.
