Job Description
Estimate and pursue project awards in commercial concrete construction.
Conduct internal preparation meetings upon project award.
Prepare and review multiple project estimates simultaneously while performing other administrative duties.
Build and maintain strong client relationships.
Perform quantity take-offs and digitize drawings using take-off software.
Input quantities into pricing spreadsheets and maintain accurate cost data.
Support the Senior Estimator as needed.
Meet with Field Operations and Safety teams to develop sequencing, formwork, budget, and logistics plans.
Communicate with clients throughout the process to ensure alignment on plans and expectations.
Develop critical path schedules and explain sequencing logic.
Collaborate with formwork suppliers for efficient cycle planning.
Discuss rebar and post-tension quantities and variances with subcontractors.
Analyze proposals and scopes of work from clients and subcontractors.
Lead internal estimate review meetings.
Prepare client presentation materials, including pour plans, formwork plans, and 3D models.
Price and reconcile drawing changes between drawing sets.
Brainstorm and develop the best methods to construct complex structures.
Solicit input from team members and share lessons learned.
Attend post-bid interviews as needed.
Occasionally walk job sites to gather feedback for future estimates.
Direct experience in commercial concrete construction.
Bachelor"s degree in Building Construction or equivalent preferred.
Tilt-up and vertical estimating experience ideal.
Detail-oriented and highly organized in a fast-paced environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to work with personnel at all levels, as well as customers and vendors.
Skilled at handling large files and confidential data.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to visualize 2D drawings in 3D and explain construction methods clearly.
Motivated to expand technical knowledge of concrete construction.
Preferred Qualifications
OSHA Certification.
Document control experience.
Construction modeling experience (Tekla or similar).
