Estimator (Hvac Service)

Summary:

An established HVAC service company is looking for an experienced Estimator in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This company provides full-service installation, maintenance, and repairs for commercial HVAC systems.

Responsibilities:

• Reviewing bid specifications and drawings for mechanical systems including chilled water, condenser water, glycol, and refrigeration.
• Submit bids and budget proposals promptly and accurately to ensure timely project completion.
• Conduct precise takeoffs and cost estimations for project materials and labor.
• Transfer bid information and subcontractor pricing details to the Project Management Team seamlessly.
• Prepare bid packages for approval from the supervisor.
• Communicate project details clearly to subcontractors, including project manager roles and permit requirements.
• Review and analyze technical drawings, blueprints, and job cost projections to ensure accuracy.
• Create and maintain a list of potential subcontractors to guarantee the right fit for each project.
• Conduct bid day analysis to assess and compare bids effectively.
• Develop Requests for Information (RFIs) and clarifications to ensure comprehensive subcontractor coverage.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of estimating experience in the mechanical contracting industry
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e. Construction Management)
• Experience with estimating software
• Be able to perform takeoffs
• Previous experience in duct work and/or HVAC piping
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings
• Able to read and understand margins and sales terminology including RFIs, addendums, and specifications
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred:

• Previous experience in HVAC Estimating is preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
