Job Description

Position SummaryObtains, calculates and compiles data for use in conceptual/bid proposal estimates, preparing routine estimates under general supervision.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for ensuring that all quantity surveys and pricing are accurate and completeProvide support for the development of bidding strategies by debriefing the salesperson of job elementsLeads the documentation management of the project, ensures all documents are complete and clearly conveys decisions made to sales and operations teams.Attend pre-bid meetings to discuss project specifics and scopeParticipate in bid closings and estimate reviewsBalance workload and assignments to meet deadlinesDevelop a value analysis study by defining alternatives to the proposed scope that are more cost-efficientManage action items from Post Bid and finalize ISEC scope.Compute cost estimates for materials, purchased equipment, subcontracted work, production activities and requirements, and labor.

4 - 7 years of experienceMeets all Minimum Qualifications of Estimator I, in addition to the following:

Owns project throughout lifecycle and seeks feedback on estimating variations and project profitabilityActs as lead estimator on a project teamSubmits bids for jobs with minimal supervision; familiar with different estimating and take-off methodsAssists with sales strategy to close jobsRepresents ISEC at GC Scope ReviewsIntermediate knowledge of ISEC products, services, processes and projectsAbility to lead an assignment/special project from start to finishMakes decisions independently depending on level of complexityFunctions autonomously most of the timeAbility to be strategic/think critically and analyticallyAbility to navigate and mitigate riskInitiates and maintains relationships with key staff and other departmentsContributes to the company above and beyond positionAssist in development/mentoring of Level 1; may have direct reports
