Job Description

Job Overview The Connecticut Association for Community Transportation (CACT) is seeking a part-time Executive Director who serves as a strong advocate for public transportation to oversee the organization's daily operations and support its mission of promoting accessible and effective community transportation throughout Connecticut. This position works closely with the Board of Directors, membership, government agencies, and industry partners to coordinate programs, events, communications, and organizational administration.

Wages Salaried Position/FLSA Exempt (1099 position) - $27,000 annually, $2,250 monthly

Flexible Schedule, work from home Hours fluctuate, averaging approximately 10 per week

Duties -Schedule and attend monthly meetings via video conference or in person

-Create meeting agendas, attach meeting minutes, treasurer reports, and other documentation relating to current programs

-Prepare, distribute and collect annual membership dues

-Maintain CACT website with regular updates

-Plan annual Legislative event, membership and awards luncheon, Transportation EXPO

-Coordinate various training courses throughout the year

-Send event communications via email, mail, making phone calls, etc.

-Schedule speakers, trainers, vendors and support staff for various events

-Maintain insurance renewals, liability and D&O

-Perform all bookkeeping utilizing QuickBooks 

-Coordinate Legislative efforts with CACT members including testimony on behalf of the organization

-All other duties as assigned

Requirements

-Experience with nonprofit or association management -Excellent computer, verbal, written and communication skills -Excellent organizational and leadership skills-Knowledge of legislative process a plus

-Knowledge of FTA and DOT procedures/regulations a plus -Experience in transit and knowledge of different modes of public transportation a plus

-Ability to perform basic bookkeeping; Knowledge of QuickBooks a plus
