We are seeking an inspiring and dynamic Executive Director to lead our childcare facility with a focus on fostering a strong team culture, coaching staff to excel, and driving operational excellence. While industry experience is not required, business acumen and a willingness to learn childcare rules and regulations are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Building

  • Build and nurture a strong, collaborative team culture that promotes trust, respect, and excellence.
  • Coach and mentor staff to maximize their potential, ensuring they feel empowered and supported to deliver their best work.
  • Foster open communication and create an environment where staff feel valued and heard.

Operational Management

  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure the facility operates efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards of care.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively, ensuring key objectives are met while delegating responsibilities appropriately to team members.
  • Stay informed about industry rules and regulations, ensuring compliance while adapting quickly to changes.

Strategic Growth & Development

  • Drive the growth of the facility by identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation in services offered.
  • Cultivate relationships with families, staff, and community partners to strengthen the facility's reputation and impact.
  • Lead with a service-oriented mindset, ensuring decisions prioritize the well-being of children, families, and staff.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Attributes:

  • A bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, a related field, or equivalent classroom/teaching experience.
  • Proven experience in business leadership or management roles (childcare experience is a plus but not required).
  • Strong ability to build teams, coach individuals, and foster a positive organizational culture.
  • Experience in strategic planning, operational management, or customer service-oriented roles.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and delegate responsibilities appropriately.
  • Growth mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Service leadership approach that prioritizes empathy, collaboration, and community impact.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with childcare industry regulations or willingness to learn quickly.
  • At least 2 years' experience managing a large group preschool/day care.
  • Strong background in state licensing regulations, staffing, enrollment, and budget management.
  • Demonstrated responsibilities in overseeing all preschool operations, including human resources, quality assurance, and facility operations.
