SUMMARY

The Experience Design Manager offers thought leadership to solve business needs through smart design solutions by acting as an advocate for each brand story, design language and play pattern. Lead and empower creative team throughout the development process from the design phase to execution on the product line. Inspire, motivate and ensure team is working in sync and prioritizing their workload through. Instinctively know how to design for established brands, as well as brands in transition.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Generate drawings, sketches, and renderings using 3D models within Illustrator, Photoshop, SolidWorks, or Creo to model potential concepts or products.

  • Reach design solutions quickly and efficiently while prioritizing work and ensure all milestones and deadlines are met.

  • Work simultaneously on multiple projects based on current client workload.

  • Partner with senior management to prepare for upcoming changes in workload.

  • Lead and participate in new concept development, ensuring initiatives are strategic.

  • Consult with internal clients, marketing, sales, PD teams to create cohesive designs that reflect our company's' goals.

  • Lead designers and research to implement competitive marketplace analysis of trends in fabric, colors, and shapes.

  • Provide multiple design solutions and ensure designs are strong, while staying within budget and meeting overall margin requirements.

  • Develop and pull together art direction for photoshoots.

  • Attend photoshoots to ensure that photography is on par with aligned art direction.

  • Coach junior designers and cross functional teams in developing their presentation skills.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Five years of progressively responsible experience as a Designer using 2D programs (Photoshop and Illustrator) and 3D programs (Sketchbook Pro and 3D solidworks) to create functional toy models.

EDUCATION & SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Toy Design, related field, or foreign degree equivalent.

COMPUTER/TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Working knowledge use of Microsoft Office Suite-Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • The team member frequently is required to sit; have flexible use of hands; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The team member is occasionally required to stand, walk, and taste or smell.
  • The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 - 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Travel Requirements: 15% domestic and international travel required.
