Job Summary
Reporting to the Metal Group Leader, the Metal Worker is responsible for installing sheet metal siding on the modular units.
Essential Functions
- Consult with construction plans and blue prints
- Install sheet metal siding
- Drill and punch holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets
- Fabricate or alter parts using shears, hammers, and drills
- Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces of assembled parts
- Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
- Clean and clear debris and hazardous materials
- Ensure construction equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly
- Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment
- Ensure regulated ear plugs, gloves and safety glasses are worn
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience hanging metal siding
- Properly trained on the operation and safety aspect of electric drills, power tools, air compressor tools, nail gun etc.
- Ability to read blue prints
- Experience in a construction and/or commercial manufacturing environment
- Flexible and“ able to move to different departments when needed
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Must have basic tools to start work (tape measure, hammer, etc.)
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift, move or handle parts weighing up to 30 pounds on a consistent basis
- Ability to lift, move or handle parts weighing up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
- Ability to stand for up to 4 hours at a time
