Our privately-owned veterinary clinic is looking for enthusiastic registered veterinary technicians or assistants to join our close-knit team! If you're a motivated self-starter with a willingness to learn we are open to teaching you how to do the job with minimal prior experience. MUST be willing to ask questions and step up the plate to help when asked (even better if you don't have to be asked), able to work comfortably with sometimes fearful or aggressive pets and occasionally grumpy owners. Salary Range: $13.00 - $19.00 per hour Benefits Hourly Base Salary + Bonus Opportunities Paid Time Off (PTO) Flexible Schedule Hands on Training Career Growth Opportunities Tuition Reimbursement Responsibilities Support and assist the doctors each day to ensure the best possible care for our patients and clients. This means that you will be responsible for: Compassionately handling patients in our care Speaking to clients in a friendly, helpful manner to answer questions, acquire histories, etc. Assisting in surgeries and advanced imaging procedures Anesthetic induction, monitoring and maintenance for surgeries and imaging Providing safe restraint for patients during examinations and procedures Implementing appropriate animal husbandry skills to decrease disease spread, injury and stress to patients Venipuncture, IV catheter placement, etc. Performing and recognizing normal physical examination parameters on canine and feline patients Calculating medication and fluid doses for administration to hospitalized patients Carrying out or setting up procedures that do not require veterinarian assistance Performing routine dental cleanings Proactively assisting with other areas of service during downtime or as directed by the manager Our veterinary technicians/assistants are in the office 36-40 hours per week with 2-3 days off weekly and no required after-hour emergency work. (We are open to a part-time or flexible schedule if needed) With our powerful team-driven bonus system, employees are empowered to influence personal revenue over and above base pay. Experienced RVTs have opportunity for additional income thru performing dental cleanings and technician appointments. Requirements 1+ years of experience preferred, but we will consider less experience for the right candidate. NOTE: Your application will not be considered until assessment is complete. Must be willing to work some Saturdays from 8am-noon.
