Title: Experiential Graphic Designer II

Overview

Experiential Graphic Designer II is an early career position within the Experiential Graphic Design Studio; however, this designer has 3-5+ years working professional design experience specifically within the experiential/environmental graphic design industry. The primary activity for a Designer II is to develop design or technical solutions along with honing their professional development and skills needed within the Experiential Graphic Design Studio. This designer has the ability to work independently, but with the direction and support of a Senior Level Designer and/or Studio Leader. An EGD Designer II is a contributor to the design team and overall project success.

This position can report to our Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA Office.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited design program with bachelor's level degree or equivalent design experience in graphic design, environmental graphics, industrial design or visual communication
  • 3-5+ years professional experience within the experiential/environmental graphic design industry.
  • Understanding of three-dimensional design and built environments.
  • Strong two-dimensional graphic design, logo design, and branding experience is a plus.
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of design phases - Conceptualization thru Documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high quality design
  • Demonstrated competency with required computer software: (Adobe Creative Suite, CAD Tools, Sketch-up, Word, Excel, etc.)

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following

  • Adhere to both Cooper Carry and the Client guidelines and meet deadlines for each project.

Refine skills including drawing, rendering, visual and presentation techniques

  • Willingness to learn, accept feedback and constructive criticism from peers, Senior Designers, and Studio Leaders.
  • Task oriented, accepting direction from others, with the ability to lead small projects and tasks independently.
  • Ability to make independent design and documentation decisions using discretion and good judgement.
  • Prepare and produce drawings, design and construction documents, as directed.
  • Understanding of municipal signage codes, fabrication methods, and general architectural documentation.
  • Ability to represent Cooper Carry in a professional manner
  • Awareness of industry, cultural and market trends.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and tasks at one time.
  • Develop Client relationships.
  • Meet the deadlines and expectations of Team Leaders.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Cooper Carry projects and resources.
  • Contribute to and promote a collaborative team atmosphere.
  • Contribute to and support the success of the Experiential Graphic Design studio and the firm.
  • Seek opportunities for advancement within the Studio and Cooper Carry.
  • Professional organization membership is not required, but recommended

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities; however, an EGD Designer II will assist in mentoring entry level designers while reporting directly to specific Team Leader, Senior Designer and/or Studio Leader.
