Responsible for supervision of daily restaurant, banquet, and bar operations and staff, ensuring excellent guest service and satisfaction. This position executes plans toward achieving Food & Beverage goals as outlined by the Food & Beverage Manager and/or the Director of Hospitality. Additionally, this position may act in the capacity of any Food & Beverage line level team member.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Other duties may be assigned:
- Interview, hire and train new Food and Beverage front-of-the-house employees.
- Assist the Food and Beverage Manager and Director of Hospitality in coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
- Track, log, and impose proper discipline levels to all staff regarding performance and attendance standards.
- Manage food & beverage daily shift to include FOH restaurant, banquet, bar, and casino beverage operations.
- Assist/manage banquet operations, including setting up/service/tear down as needed.
- Communicate with Food and Beverage Manager and DOH on purchasing requests.
- Assists with or prepares weekly orders for Food and Beverage front-of-house, bar and beverage products, and Food and Beverage operating supplies.
- Assists with and manages Food and Beverage Costs-of-Goods-Sold, labor, and other controllable expenses.
- Assists with and prepares weekly front-of-house employee work schedules, including banquet scheduling needs.
- Assists with all Food and Beverage line level duties as needed filling in to ensure operational success when needed.
- Directs back-of-house (Culinary) staff in the absence of back-of-house leadership.
- Practices responsible alcohol service, including properly ID'ing. Maintain and understand compliance with federal, state local regulations.
- Enforce all policies and procedures.
- Perform all job functions in a safe and responsible manner.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct supervision of all front-of-house Food & Beverage staff including Cashier/Hosts, Bussers, Food Servers, Bartenders, Barbacks, Cocktail Servers/Beverage Servers, Banquet Staff and secondary supervision of kitchen staff. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees in all areas of their job; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; documenting concerns and discipline; addressing complaints; resolving problems; provide for the safety and security of the employees.
Must carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
All Employees must be knowledgeable of all Company policies and procedures, including fire and safety regulations.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum two years' food & beverage experience; some supervisory experience required.
High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent required. Some college preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Driver License preferred.
SKILLS / ABILITITIES:
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English in all manners.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of food service and best practices.
- Ability to accept constructive feedback and to work collaboratively with management and other stakeholders to identify and facilitate needed improvements to the food service program.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software as needed to draft reports, inventory, etc.
