Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Fabrication Assistant to support our production team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for moving, preparing, and verifying metal materials while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting and takes pride in quality workmanship.
What You'll Do
Load and unload materials onto pallets, trays, racks, and shelves
Transport materials from storage areas to workstations
Hammer and chip metal work-pieces from sheets
Grind and sand metal components to remove imperfections
Identify, tag, and stage work-pieces on appropriate carts
Verify that materials meet specifications and quality standards
Collaborate with supervisors to resolve fabrication issues
Safely operate equipment, including:
Hoists
Lift tables
Forklifts (company certification required)
Handle machinery and materials with care and attention to detail
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Perform additional duties as assigned
What You Bring
- High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
- 1-3 months of related experience preferred
- Basic reading, writing, and communication skills
- Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, measurements)
- Familiarity with measuring tools (tape measures, precision tools)
- Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram instructions
- Experience with hand tools and air-powered tools
- Ability to operate or learn to operate fabrication equipment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 10 hours per shift
- Frequent use of hands for handling, gripping, and reaching
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly
- Strong attention to visual detail (close, peripheral, and depth vision)
Work Environment
- Fast-paced fabrication setting
- Exposure to industrial chemicals (metalworking fluids, cleaners, etc.)
- Loud environment-hearing protection required

Compensation and Benefits:
- Pay wage: $19/hour
- Shift: Day Shift (5am-3:30pm) or Swing Shift (3pm-1:30am)
- 9 paid Holidays
