Job Description
Fabrication Operator
Location: Tulsa Area
Pay: $19.44–$24.00 per hour plus 11.5% shift differential
Shifts Available
- 2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 3:30 PM–2:00 AM
- Weekend Shift: Friday–Sunday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM
HireCall is seeking a Fabrication Operator to work at a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility where components for sheet metal products are produced.
Fabrication Operators will primarily use saws, drills, mills, taps, and other sanding, cutting, deburring, and grinding equipment to finish parts coming off the laser operator's table and move completed parts to the next operation.
We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable using hand and power tools, and able to work safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will also have experience with press brakes and other metal-forming machines and equipment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a fabrication environment preferred
- Prior experience in metal fabrication
- Experience with industrial machinery and equipment
- Proficient with hand and power tools
- Proficient with measuring equipment, including:
- Height gauges
- Calipers
- Tape measures
- Squares
- Angle finders
- Proficiency with blueprints and work instructions
- Knowledge of basic shop math
- Experience with press brakes or other metal-forming equipment preferred
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate fabrication machinery and equipment
- Use saws, drills, mills, taps, grinders, deburring equipment, and other shop tools
- Finish and prepare parts coming from the laser cutting operation
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
- Measure and inspect parts to ensure they meet specifications
- Inspect finished products for quality
- Move completed parts to the next operation
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
Physical & Safety Requirements
This is a safety-sensitive position because it requires the operation of equipment, machinery, and power tools. The position also involves maintaining and monitoring equipment and manufacturing processes where a malfunction or disruption could result in injury or property damage.
Approximately 95% of the normal work shift requires standing, bending, squatting, and climbing while running production, inspecting work and machines, and checking procedures.
The job requires moving materials and parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Lifting devices should be used when possible. Parts may need to be lifted, pulled, pushed, and held in place, sometimes without the benefit of material-handling devices due to limited space and confined areas in and around machines.
