Job Description

FCP Euro is hiring a Facility & Maintenance (FM) Technician II for our Milford, CT location. The FM Technician will report to the FM Assistant Manager, providing tactical support for a variety of assigned tasks related to equipment preventative maintenance, distribution and material handling technology, facilities upkeep, property cleanliness, utility performance, hardware optimization, building security, key card entry interface, safety, and other company-wide processes. Overall, they will play a major role in keeping all the moving pieces in and around our building operating at reliable, safe, and effective levels.   • Maintain, repair, and perform preventative maintenance and inspections on complex machinery (conveyor system, HVAC equipment, scanners, print and apply equipment, automatic doors, dock doors, Powered Industrial Trucks, air compressors systems, etc)
  • Maintain and repair production equipment as needed,
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical problems and failures within the material handling system but rely on management to make final decisions on more complex issues.
  • Maintain and repair facilities, including basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems; serve as a point of contact with facility vendors as necessary for matters requiring escalation
  • Define, document, and execute a preventative maintenance schedule for powered industrial trucks (PIT), distribution technology and automation, material handling equipment, building utilities, and other pneumatic or hydraulic items.
  • Create a centralized quality management system related to facilities documentation, not limited to training documents, parts inventory, vendor contact lists, and contracts
  • Serves as the primary tactical resource for all types of hands-on tasks, including but not limited to assembly, disassembly, movement, organization, installation, and cleaning of anything falling into FCP Euro's operational purview 
  • Actively researches new technology to keep FCP Euro competitive by attending trade shows, webinars, and other educational events to support and improve the reliability of systems
  • Accountable for building entry card system, door schedules, and issuing/programming key cards, and directly responding to disruptions as necessary, including after-hours
  • Accountable for HVAC system performance, maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.  Works with vendors on contract requirements as required
  • Independently monitor operations queue and disposition requests as they are submitted
  • Explores and implements technology improvements
  • Effectively communicate when work or changes are taking place to minimize disruption to office or distribution center staff
  • Interfaces with cross-functional team members to improve company-wide people, processes, and proficiencies
  • Provides support in key decision-making alongside executive, leadership, and management teams
  • Supports introducing the company to new technologies and material-handling solutions
  • Supports and drives facility-wide safety regulatory compliance
  • Documents various processes to create redundancy and can actively make decisions that deviate from that process if it’s the best course of action
  • Consistently delivering a "WOW" factor above and beyond customer expectations
Qualifications and Skills
  • 4+ years of general maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair experience within a warehouse or manufacturing environment
  • Professional certification(s) for electrical, HVAC, or plumbing.  Demonstrated skill development is preferred in multiple trades
  • Associate degree or relevant experience preferred
  • Must have prior experience working in a warehouse in maintenance
  • Must be able to lift up to 60+ pounds as necessary
  • Mechanical aptitude- Can properly use machinery, tools, and equipment to diagnose and fix routine problems
  • Ability to test a relay or contactor to determine which contacts are bad, not just that the component itself has failed.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings/schematics and manuals
  • Troubleshoot electrical control issues utilizing the I/O lights on a PLC
  • Communication skills- Can effectively relay ticket status and translate information between employees and vendors, asking the right questions to identify and correct weaknesses
  • Critical thinking skills- Can identify why processes or operations are not working as well as they should offer any root cause solutions
  • Detail-oriented- Possesses a strong observational ability, demonstrates cleanliness, neatness, “paints behind the cabinet” mentality
  • Can work around people while maintaining a positive, supportive demeanor
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Word, Excel, Gmail, Google Docs, Jira ticketing systems
  • Ability to control multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment; strong attention to detail while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to support a rotating weekend on-call schedule for site support with additional compensation
Compensation
  • $26/hour+ based on prior experience and qualifications
  • Quarterly bonus potential of $900
