Position InterfaceThis position reports directly to the Facilities Manager and will interact daily with other Rod Shop associates including the Management Team.
Responsibilities:
Be an ambassador of the Brand and embody the Orvis culture and its core valuesComplete Facilities Tasks that include but not limited to:
Housekeeping duties for offices and common areasCleaning and restocking restroomsMail and material pick upsReplace HVAC filters, empty dust bins, monthly mail truck inspections, and perform other basic preventative maintenance tasksOther facilities, housekeeping and support duties as assigned
Provide support as needed in the rod building process to complete the manufacturing of an Orvis Fly Rod which may include:
Operating state-of-the-art rod manufacturing equipmentCutting, cleaning, and painting rod sectionsAssembling and installing reel seats and cork handlesAffixing guides to rod blanksInspecting work and ensuring quality controlWork to specification and meet daily production goals
Complete additional assignments from Rod Shop management
Required Qualifications:
Valid driver's licensePass a background checkHave a clean driving recordHigh school diplomaExcellent attendance and strong work ethicProactive, adaptable, collaborative and solution-oriented personalityAbility to take verbal direction and execute with exactnessAbility to work independently, manage time effectively and prioritize daily tasksPhysical ability to lift and move up to 30lbsPhysical ability to bend and move with agilityPhysical ability to stand for extended periods of timeExcellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in janitorial, custodial, facilities, or general maintenance workExperience in light manufacturing and/or the use of hand toolsExperience in craftsmanshipAppreciation for the outdoors
