Job Description

Location: Perth, WA (site travel as required)

Employment Type: 12-month contract (40 hrs per week)

Reporting to: Engineering Manager (or delegate)

About the Role:

We are seeking a broadly skilled, motivated Facilities Engineer / Engineering Response Lead with 10-15 years of facilities experience and a strong work ethic to support the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of facilities within our oil and gas operations. This role is critical in ensuring general field infrastructure, process equipment, and utilities support safe production, maintenance, and operational continuity across our brownfield assets.

You will lead a small, multidisciplinary team of system engineers and work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Asset Integrity, HSE, and external contractors to manage, maintain, troubleshoot, and implement improvements to various facility systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and troubleshoot facility issues and breakdowns as the initial engineering response focal point.

  • Manage a team of system and project engineers.

  • Prepare and manage CAPEX budgets.

  • Ensure facilities comply with the Safety Case, technical specifications, industry codes, standards, and regulations.

  • Provide technical advice to Engineering and Operations teams.

  • Apply and facilitate Management of Change process across the operation.

  • Manage small- to medium-sized interdisciplinary engineering, cost-reduction, and optimisation projects from concept through execution and close-out.

  • Support facilities-related capital works, shutdowns, and upgrades.

  • Collaborate with subsurface teams to prepare and execute downhole campaigns.

  • Coordinate and supervise contractors in site environments.

  • Conduct audits and participate in risk assessments including HAZID and HAZOP studies.

  • Lead and support failure, incident, and non-conformance investigations, implementing corrective actions as required.

  • Review and manage design documentation, technical reports, SOWs, performance standards, audit reports, and CMMS data.

  • Support incident response operations.

  • Demonstrate strong engagement with the Company's vision, engineering processes, business governance processes, internal stakeholders, and external contractors and consultants.

Qualifications and Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Process desirable).

  • 10-15 years of experience and broad technical expertise in facilities engineering or engineering response within the oil and gas industry.

  • Strong commitment to safety leadership, hazard identification, and risk mitigation.

  • Strong understanding of:

  • Safety Case regime

  • Safety management systems (MoC, risk management, performance standards, PTW, specific work guidelines, etc.)

  • Oil and gas production and process streams, and associated process, utility, and plant equipment.

  • Experience managing team members, engineering consultants, contractors, and service agreements.

  • Strong communication, planning, and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Experience with SAP (CMMS) and asset management systems.

  • Knowledge of asset integrity and lifecycle management.

Preferred:

  • Experience in offshore and/or onshore oil and gas operations.

  • Brownfield operations and shutdown experience on upstream and midstream (or downstream) facilities.

  • Troubleshooting and reliability for rotating (diesel engines, dual-fuel turbines, compressors, pumps, etc.).

  • Project engineering or capital works delivery experience.

  • Current offshore training and certifications, including BOSIET or FOET with CA-EBS, MSIC, Working at Heights (WAH), Confined Space Entry (CSE), and Permit to Work (PTW).
