Corporate Real Estate (CRE) is responsible for planning, managing, and optimizing MITRE's real estate infrastructure and related business processes in support of our FFRDC objectives and our sponsors' mission outcomes. We develop and maintain flexible, high-performing physical environments and supporting services that advance MITRE's Corporate Strategy of Mission First, People Always.
Roles & Responsibilities: In this role, the Facilities Technical Coordinator is expected to actively support Corporate Real Estate (CRE) operations by effectively managing technical tools and systems, accurately tracking and maintaining asset inventories, and coordinating project documentation. The coordinator will support and help oversee campus-wide projects and initiatives, support and facilitate security-related activities, and manage transportation services for the campus. Success in this position requires strong technical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external vendor partners. The coordinator is expected to demonstrate a clear interest in developing broader Corporate Real Estate capabilities, including lease management, facility maintenance, and other related responsibilities as their experience grows.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support
- Manage and administer software license agreements for CRE stakeholders and external vendor partners, ensuring compliance with contract terms and organizational standards.
- Provide technical support to CRE staff and vendor partners, including software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Open, track, and manage VRA/ESR requests and Information Security waiver requests in coordination with IT and security stakeholders, ensuring timely resolution and proper documentation.
- Maintain the CRE purchase card (P-Card) for McLean-based purchases, process allocations, and ensure adherence to finance policies and procedures.
- Manage contractor-issued MITRE property such as laptops, iPads, cell phones, and related peripherals; maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper control and accountability.
- Diagnose and resolve technology-related issues impacting CRE operations; escalate incidents to CRE leadership or IT teams as appropriate to ensure prompt remediation and business continuity.
- Support the maintenance of the CRE Home Pages/SharePoint Site: quick links, libraries, important announcements.
Record Drawings and Project Documentation
- Serve as the drawing librarian for Corporate Real Estate (CRE), partnering with architectural/engineering (A/E) firms and internal project teams to manage design and construction documentation.
- Coordinate, track, and execute the transfer of construction project drawings and Gold Source drawings into CRE's centralized drawing repository, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Enforce documentation standards, maintain version control, and oversee proper archiving of project records to support reliable access, compliance, and long-term asset management.
- Coordinate end-to-end signage delivery, including procurement, vendor selection and management, and on-site implementation of signage solutions.
Security Processing
- Manage end-to-end onboarding and offboarding processes for vendors, contractors, and subcontractors, including issuance and recovery of badges, equipment, and system account access.
- Process and track badge renewals and associated access changes for the McLean campus, ensuring timely updates to privileges.
- Coordinate closely with Security and IT teams to enforce access control policies and maintain compliance with organizational security standards.
Transportation Services - McLean Campus
- Manage transportation services for the McLean campus, including shuttle operations, parking support, and coordination of related vendor services.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for transportation-related inquiries, issues, and escalations.
- Support communication efforts and process improvements to enhance the transportation experience for employees and visitors.
- Lead and manage the Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Program, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- Experience supporting facilities, corporate real estate, IT coordination, or a related operations function.
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven technical aptitude, including familiarity with enterprise software tools and basic technical troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with external vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent requests and shifting priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clear, professional correspondence.
- High attention to detail, especially in documentation, inventory management, and asset tracking.
- This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with facilities management systems, CAD drawing repositories, and construction project documentation, including tracking, updating, and organizing building and project records.
- Familiar with security and access control processes, including employee badge creation, deactivation, and ongoing badge management.
- Involved in facility initiatives, coordinating and reporting on activities with vendor partners.
- Experience managing corporate-owned devices and technology inventory, including tracking assets, coordinating deployment, and maintaining accurate records.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with working knowledge of Smartsheet for project tracking, reporting, and collaboration.

Salary compensation range and midpoint:
$99,200 - $124,000 - $148,800 Annual
