A Brief Overview

The Facility Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the administration of Safelite's facility maintenance software system (ServiceChannel) and will manage associated work orders for their dedicated region. This position will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by delivering excellent customer service and supporting our field leadership team to identify problems and develop short and/or long term sustainable solution while executing in accordance with Safelite's maintenance processes.

What you will do

  • Support Field Operations through daily oversite and management of ServiceChannel work orders in all process phases including: initiation, tracking, coordinating, reviewing proposals and securing cost approvals, and invoicing. Provide regular status updates to leadership.

  • Partners with Safelite maintenance leadership, internal/external project consultants, and service providers to administer preventative and reactive maintenance programs. Act as liaison with leadership team and vendors to ensure minimal store/business interruption.

  • Provide guidance and recommendations to field partners and approvers on the scope of work for maintenance projects/proposals and facilitate escalation where needed. Influence and develop solutions to make recommendations to field leaders to optimize resources and costs.

  • Review and monitor maintenance activities to ensure quality of work, control costs, and accelerate resolution. Review all cost proposals, challenging when needed. Implement best practices to minimize costs. Negotiate repair responsibility with landlords.

  • Administer the ServiceChannel system, troubleshoot errors and issues that may arise, and provide recommendations to Safelite maintenance leadership on ServiceChannel and maintenance processes.

  • Support Safelite programs in sustainability, asset management, and facility condition.

  • Visit sites to evaluate conditions and identify potential repair and maintenance needs.

  • Provide leadership with data analytics and tracking to support the retail, supply chain, and HQ organizations. Develop and maintain cost summary of all maintenance work and review with leadership.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What you will need

  • High School Diploma Required

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred

  • 1-3 years Experience and proven success working in a multi-faceted, customer service based environment Required

  • 1-3 years Facility maintenance experience or involvement in property management preferred. Preferred

  • Capable of managing detailed data and processes in a high-volume setting

  • Technologically capable including experience performing job functions utilizing computer-based software systems

  • Strong interpersonal and remote communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate in a positive manner. Comfortable interacting and communicating with field leadership.

  • Excellent organization skills with high attention to detail

  • Proactive problem solver

  • Ability to travel occasionally (up to 30%)

Expected Work Location (In Office): It is expected that you will primarily perform work at the Safelite Home Office (7400 Safelite Way, Columbus, OH 43235). You are required to work in the office at least 4 days a week. Changes to work location arrangements are subject to managerial approval and business needs. #LI-Onsite #LI-MH1
