Job Description

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITIONS IN THIS CLASS:Under general direction, performs work in the maintenance, repair, and remodeling of public buildings and installed facilities; performs building and equipment repairs.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY AND PERFORMANCE:

Essential Duties:

Performs maintenance of public buildings:

  • Performs carpentry, painting, concrete work and maintenance of public buildings and installed equipment.
  • Moves various equipment, furniture and other objects.
  • Repairs broken windows.
  • Paints and stains.
  • Maintains heating and cooling system.
  • Troubleshoots various mechanical systems within the public buildings.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on various systems within the public buildings
  • Constructs facilities.
  • Maintains electric door locks in jail.
  • Repairs sewer lines and plumbing fixtures.
  • Maintains jail facility

Arranges and sets up furniture:

  • Sets up and prepares rooms and facilities for use by groups.
  • Assists in moving and arranging furniture and equipment.

Other Duties: Performs related duties as assigned
