Job Description

Position OverviewThe FSO will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all aspects of Mission One’s industrial security program in compliance with the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and applicable government regulations. This is a hands-on leadership role with direct visibility to executive leadership and a strategic mandate to shape and scale our security infrastructure as we grow.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter, able to wear multiple hats, and comfortable working in a lean small business environment where their expertise will directly impact contract execution and growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the company’s primary interface with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and other security stakeholders.
  • Manage and maintain compliance with the NISPOM, DoD security directives, and customer security requirements.
  • Oversee and manage JPAS/DISS, NISS, and eQIP activities including clearance processing, visit authorizations, incident reporting, and personnel security actions.
  • Administer personnel security clearances (PCLs), maintain required records, and ensure all personnel meet eligibility and suitability requirements.
  • Develop and implement security policies, standard operating procedures, and training programs for cleared employees.
  • Conduct self-inspections, security audits, and annual reviews to ensure continuous compliance.
  • Manage classified material handling, storage, and transmission, ensuring adherence to marking and safeguarding protocols.
  • Coordinate with leadership on security considerations for proposals, contracts, and program execution.
  • Serve as Insider Threat Program Senior Official (ITPSO) and ensure adherence to insider threat reporting and training requirements.
  • Provide security briefings, debriefings, and training for cleared personnel.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Secret or TS/SCI clearance.
  • 3+ years of experience as an FSO or Assistant FSO supporting DoD or Intelligence Community programs.
  • Strong understanding of NISPOM, DoD 5220.22-M, and DCSA compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in DISS, NISS, eQIP, and associated personnel security systems.
  • Proven ability to work independently and operate within a small business environment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities (CDSE).
  • Experience establishing or scaling an FSO program in a small business or start-up environment.
  • Experience managing Insider Threat Program responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with contract security clauses, DD254s, and classified contracts administration.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
