Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Occupational Therapy, the faculty member performs teaching, service, and research duties in the occupational therapy field.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the university in implementing the Statement of Purpose
  • Assist the university and department in implementing long-range institutional and financial plans
  • Maintain standards of the profession, including rules and regulations of licensing and certification.
  • Assist with recruitment and admissions processes for the Department of Occupational Therapy
  • Provide academic advising for current and potential MOT students
  • Ensure each student has met health and academic requirements for attendance at each fieldwork education experience
  • Use active learning strategies to teach entry-level Master of Occupational Therapy learners in faculty member's area of expertise and provide evaluation of student learning.
  • Engage in service to the university and the profession through committee appointments, providing continuing education offerings, clinical practice, consulting, etc.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of curriculum design with regard to principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice in accordance with meeting accreditation standards.
  • Responsible for mentoring students on scholarly projects.
  • Demonstrate ongoing scholarly achievement and research expertise.
