Job Description

Bremer Whyte Brown & O'Meara, LLP is seeking a talented Family Law Legal Secretary/Paralegal to join our award-winning Family Law team. As a Family Law Legal Secretary/Paralegal, you will have an essential role in supporting our attorneys and clients and contributing to our continued success.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, format, and file family law legal documents and pleadings
  • Maintain attorney calendars, including scheduling appointments and calendaring deadlines
  • Communicate with clients regarding case matters and updates
  • Handle administrative duties as needed, including answering phones and filing
  • Proofread documents to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to filing or distribution

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of recent secretarial and/or paralegal experience in Family Law required
  • Knowledge of California family court filing procedures
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and other word processing software
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated, reliable team player with a professional personality
  • Paralegal certification is a plus
  • This is a hybrid paralegal/secretary position and will not require billing as a paralegal
