Job DetailsSeeking an experienced Family Law Paralegal with a minimum of 2-3 years of substantive family law paralegal experience. Responsibilities:

Handle substantive family law paralegal duties including divorce, custody, child support, spousal maintenance, and property division matters
Draft pleadings, motions, affidavits, and other family law documents
Prepare discovery requests and responses
Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
Manage case files and maintain organized documentation
Assist with trial preparation and court hearings
Conduct legal research on family law matters
Calculate child support and spousal maintenance worksheets
Prepare financial affidavits and disclosures
Manage court filing deadlines and calendaring
Communicate with clients regarding case status and documentation needs
Assist attorneys with case strategy and preparation
Meet minimum billable hours requirement of 27 hours per week

Qualifications:Required:

Minimum 2-3 years experience in family law firm doing substantive paralegal activities (more experience strongly preferred)
Strong knowledge of California family law procedures, forms, and court rules
Excellent drafting and document preparation skills
Proficiency in legal research
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases
Client service orientation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software
Proven track record of meeting billing expectations

Preferred:

Paralegal certificate or relevant degree
Experience with California family law courts (Placer County preferred)
Knowledge of California child support and spousal maintenance calculations
Trial preparation experience
