The Esports Events Graphic Designer Work Study position provides students with hands-on experience developing visual identities and creative assets for ArtU Esports events and tournaments.  Working onsite and reporting directly to the Esports Director, this role will explore unique creative directions for events for current ArtU students, as well as support the creation of promotional, social, and broadcast graphics for Art U Esports. The student will gain experience developing event specific visual systems, responding to creative direction and feedback, and carrying a visual concept across a variety of deliverables. 

Responsibilities:

• Assist with developing unique visual identities for ArtU Esports tournaments, competitions, and special events.
• Create event specific graphics for announcements, promotions, schedules, brackets, matchups, results, and other event needs.
• Explore different visual directions for each event while maintaining an appropriate connection to the ArtU Esports brand.
• Assist with creating graphics and visual assets for event broadcasts, social media, and digital platforms.
• Work with the Video Editor to incorporate event photography and other media into promotional and recap materials.
• Collaborate with Production Support to prepare graphics and visual assets needed for event broadcasts.
• Adapt event artwork into the appropriate formats and sizes for different platforms and uses.
• Organize and maintain event design files and assets for continued program use.
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from the Esports Director.
• Develop hands on experience in event branding, campaign design, and visual communication

Qualifications:

• Interest in graphic design, event branding, games, or esports.
• Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator.
• Understanding of basic design principles including typography, composition, hierarchy, and color.
• Ability to explore different visual styles and creative directions across multiple projects.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Able to manage multiple assignments and meet scheduled deadlines.
• Comfortable receiving feedback and iterating on designs.
• Able to collaborate with other student roles and program staff.
• Illustration, motion graphics, photography, or broadcast graphics experience is helpful, but not required.
• Portfolio or examples of previous design work preferred.
• Interest in games and esports.

Pay Rate :

$19.61 per hour

Work Schedule: 

Up to 20 hours per week.*

Federal Work Study work schedules may not conflict with the student's class schedule.

Length of Employment: The student’s starting term at the Academy of Art University through graduation.
